This workshop provides a brief overview of Quantum Computing. A description of what it can and cannot do will be presented. A brief discussion of topics planned to be discussed include changes Quantum computing will make to the non-quantum, general HPC community, and why a disparate collection of large corporations are investing huge sums of money into a product which, as yet, has delivered no return. Also included will be a description of competing hardware and a simple, hands-on quantum programming exercise to be run on a quantum computer emulator.
