This course consists of a series of short lessons, examples, demonstrations, practice quizzes, and hands-on exercises.

Explore the contents of After Effects: Video Effects and Text Animation Basics:
You will learn about the After Effects interface and how to customize the interface.
You will create a lower third graphic. While creating the lower third graphic you will learn how to import assets, create a composition, work with the timeline, how to edit composition properties, how to add text and change properties of text, and how to preview a composition. You will also learn about timecode and safe areas.
Learn how to use the After Effects animation system. The properties you will learn to animate are anchor point, rotation, scale, position and opacity.
You will start creating a thirty second movie trailer. In this section you will create a blank composition, create and format some text, and animate the position of the text.
You will learn how to work with effects, including how to apply and modify effects.
You will create a complex composition made up of several different object, each with different animation properties and effects. You will learn to work with solids, create an animated star field effect, use the fractal noise effect, asnd create an animated sphere effect.
Animate an effect and multiple properties to create a more complex animation. Also learn about shying and soloing layers and the easing property.
Learn to use apply preset animations that After Effects provides. You will use Adobe Bridge to find and preview animations. Also learn how to make changes to the preset animations once they are applied to an object.
Learn about how to take advantage of the dynamic link between Adobe Programs. You will use Adobe Premiere to bring multiple After Effects compositions together to create the movie trailer.
Practice applying the skills you have learned through this course. Apply effects and animations to already created compositions to complete the movie trailer.
