Microsoft Teams is a collaboration platform that ties together multiple Microsoft applications and services in one location to facilitate communication and collaboration within and between units at Indiana University. Members of a team have full permission on files and folders stored within the team's file storage, but what about non-team members? This session will showcase the methods for granting access to files located in a team's file storage to individuals who are not team members.
Microsoft OneDrive at IU: Individual file management basics
Microsoft OneDrive is a web application included with Microsoft 365 that allows users to manage files stored within Microsoft storage. OneDrive can access files stored in team-owned storage as well as an individual's private Microsoft cloud storage. This session will show users how to navigate the interface and how to use the OneDrive web application to find and share their individual and team files and folders.
Microsoft Planner is a Kanban solution that allows teams to manage projects, tasks, and assignments. Microsoft Planner is built-in to Microsoft 365 allowing seamless integration with Microsoft tools like file storage and the global address list.
Microsoft To Do is the project management tool in Microsoft 365 geared toward managing individual task lists. Microsoft To Do integrates with the tasks system within M365 and alows you to make lists that include tasks assigned to you via a plan in Microsoft Planner, flagged emails from Outlook, and even flagged paragraphs within OneNote notebooks. This session will showcase the features of Microsoft To Do that will streamline the way you manage your individual task lists.
Microsoft Bookings: Creating an appointment scheduling page for your team
Microsoft Bookings is a web application that allows you to create a selection of appointment types that visitors can choose from to schedule a meeting with various members of your team. Bookings is used outside of the university to create service pages for busiensses like massage therapists. Within IU, you can use bookings to allow outsiders to schedule time with someone on your team; students to schedule office hours, or for job candidates to schedule a time for their interview with their interview committee.
Bookings with Me: Create an appointment scheduling page for your individual calendar
Bookings with me is the personal version of Microsoft Bookings. Every individual has the ability to create their own bookings page that is automatically integrated with their Outlook calendar. This allows you to provide folks with a form that allows them to choose a time to meet with you without requiring access to your calendar.

Learn about the options available for migrating personal files from Box at IU to either Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive. IU’s cloud storage agreement with Box ends in spring 2021 and student, staff, and faculty files will be migrated after May 22, 2020. You do not have to migrate your files, but you do need to decide where you want them to go. These webinars will help you determine what personal files are, prepare your personal files for migration, and decide which service to choose for storing personal files.
