Intern insights

As an intern in the IT Training department, I came expecting to learn new things. What I didn’t expect was for those new things to not only be on programs that I have little knowledge on but also on programs that I thought I’ve mastered.

For example, learning an Adobe program such as InDesign was something I expected; what I didn’t expect was to learn a shortcut for splitting your screen or what kerning is and how to change it in Word.

To enlighten you on kerning as I have been, I will explain. Kerning is the spacing between characters in word. You can either expand or tighten that space without actually stretching or squeezing the word itself. I also learned what tracking is, the spacing between words.

I am learning new tips and tricks as well as learning new programs.
