What is the best way to present data in office?

Once you have compiled an interesting and compelling data set, how do you present it for maximum impact? In Effectively presenting data in office applications, you will learn how to use Excel charts, Access reports and PowerPoint to maximize the visual impact of your data and present it more effectively. You will also learn how to leverage these tools into written reports developed in Word.

What application will do what I need for data storage?

Have you had trouble figuring out whether the data you need to manage is best tracked in Excel or Access? In Excel vs. Access for data storage, IT Training staff will walk you through different types of data problems to show you which kinds of data are best tracked in each program, focusing on the various kinds of problems each program is designed to solve. Bring the questions you have about the data you need to track!

Webinar for students!


IT Training will be offering a webinar for students on Wednesday July 15th from 11am-12pm covering how to use the new Taskstream tool to create ePortfolios. We’ll explore the different styles and layouts available, how to organize your content, and how to share your final product with others.

Pluralsight training reduced!


Pluralsight provides advanced video-based online training focused on technically oriented and design topics. You can use Pluralsight to grow your skills in software development, Business Intelligence, database and server administration, networking, graphic design, video editing, animation, and more.

Though the cost of an annual enrollment on the Pluralsight web site is $499 per year, members of the statewide IU community can purchase a subscription for $40 for the remainder of 2015.

Kaltura-Video management system


This cloud-based video management system can be used by anyone for creating, storing, publishing, and streaming videos, video collections, and other types of media.

IT Training will be offering a webinar on Kaltura: An Overview on July 14th from 1—2pm. This webinar will show you how to create, upload, manage and distribute media.
