Outlook: Email Essentials

Outlook is an application used to process email and manage personal information. This workshop is intended for anyone who has an IU exchange account and is interested in exploring the basics of how to read, send and organize email in Outlook, how to send attachments, and how to save names to an address book. Participants will also interact with the Outlook Web client.

Can’t make it to the workshop?

Participants will:

  • explore the Outlook 2007 interface
  • compose, format, reply to, and forward email messages
  • save important messages to folders
  • use IU’s Global Address List to find email addresses
  • save addresses to an address book and distribution list
  • attach files to email messages
  • schedule a personal appointment
  • access Outlook from the Web

The following workshops are suggested prerequisites to this workshop:

Participants should already be able to:

  • use a mouse
  • cut, copy, paste, and format text
  • save and organize files
  • identify and understand the basic parts of an email message
