Microsoft Office 2007: What’s New in Word, PowerPoint & Outlook

Intended for participants who are considering upgrading to Word, PowerPoint or Outlook 2007 and want to learn more about them, and for experienced users of these applications who simply need to learn how to navigate in the new interface and take advantage of the new features. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the new Office 2007 interface for Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and learn how to use some the new features in each application. Compatibility issues and file formats will also be discussed.

Participants will:

  • explore the new Office 2007 user interface
  • understand the various file formats and compatibility issues
  • apply quick styles
  • customize themes
  • use SmartArt graphics
  • work with building blocks
  • apply animation effects to SmartArt Graphics in PowerPoint slides
  • modify WordArt text
  • learn about new features in Outlook

Participants should already be able to:

  • perform commands from the Office 2003 Menu bar and toolbars
  • switch between Office applications
  • enter and edit text
  • save and print a document
