Word 2007 Advanced End-User Certificate Series

Microsoft Word is the most popular and one of the most powerful word processing applications for creating text documents. In this Word series, you will be introduced to intermediate to advanced features in Word.

Earn the certificate

  1. Sign up for the certificate (below) to indicate that you are interested in earning this certificate.
  2. Register for and attend each workshop in the series within one year. Receive a 10% discount if you register for all the workshops at one time. Workshops and schedules are listed below. Or, read about workshop charges and policies.
  3. You can keep track of your progress in your customer profile.
  4. The IT Training & Education office will contact you when you have completed the certificate.

Workshops in this series

Word: Collaborative Tools

This workshop introduces Word’s collaborative writing features that can be particularly useful when working with multiple authors, but can also be used by a single author. With these features, multiple people can review a document and make changes or suggestions without actually altering the original text.

Word: Regaining Control with AutoCorrect and Styles

This workshop will help you understand how Word’s often-intrusive automatic features work so you can keep them from making unwanted corrections. In addition, by gaining a better understanding of these features, you will learn how to modify them to make them work for you, to help you improve your overall productivity in Word.

Word: Graphic Features

Introduces Word’s graphic manipulation features. Intended for participants who are already comfortable using Word, this workshop uses Word’s drawing features to modify graphics and clip art.

Word: Desktop Publishing

This workshop is intended for participants who are already familiar with Word and want to learn its advanced layout features.

Word: Mail Merge

In this workshop, participants will explore the tools available for automating the creation of individually customized documents in Microsoft Word. Participants will use data files from Word, Excel and Access to generate personalized documents such as certificates, letters, envelopes and labels.
