We have many self-study computer training resources available for those who want to learn on their own.

IT Training Online

  • Lynda.com Online Training: video-based training on Adobe applications, open source software, Macintosh applications, multimedia and web programming technologies, and more. We're providing FREE access to IU faculty, staff, and students from August 20 to December 20.
  • Skillchoice Complete: combining Skillsoft eLearning courses and Books 24x7: nearly 3,000 online self-study computer training courses covering desktop applications, databases & programming, networking & server administration, project management & leadership, and much more. Includes access to Books 24x7, a searchable database of thousands of online textbooks on basic to advanced IT topics and business skills.
  • Microsoft Desktop eLearning courses: courses and reference materials on Microsoft Office and Windows, free for IU students, faculty and staff.
  • Apple – iLife: learn how to use the iLife applications on a Macintosh computer using online elearning tutorials from Apple.

  • Order STEPS training materials to learn on your own. Note that materials are given to all workshop participants so you do not need to order materials for any workshop you plan to attend.
  • Download exercise files to accompany STEPS training materials.
  • Online Tutorials: IT Training tutorials that provide coverage of selected IU services and IT concepts.
